What is Online Strength & Conditioning/Performance Training?
While the weight-room is a perfect environment for athletes to invest and gain experience towards improving their athleticism, many lack the understanding to moderate their approach in the weight room. If not monitored correctly, the athletes may train in excess, resulting in overtraining, or not enough – resulting in wasted time and lack of stimuli for adaptations.
My job as your remote Strength & Conditioning coach is to help moderate, program and identify the effective dose required for adaptations leading to a life-long athletic career.
The training will encompass:

However, this will mostly be reserved for athletes that have some form of weight-room experience. When creating a program for athletes, it is best to leave as little, if any, guesswork out of the equation.

FAQ’s
What is performance training?
In short, Performance Training is work done outside of sport practice to improve measurable outputs and durability/robustness of athletes to mitigate the likelihood of contact/non-contact injuries sustained through sport. This mainly comprises of utilizing weight-room training to improve physical outputs (speed, power and strength training) by applying Strength & Conditioning principles over the course of weeks and months. It is important to keep in mind that sport practice should still hold a priority. By mastering the skillset in sport alongside improved physical outputs, an athlete gains the ability to better express said skill.
How to manage performance through training and development?
Managing practice, training and overall development altogether can be done by implementing strategic fatigue management, and careful planning around practice and overall volume and intensity through a weekly period. By identifying what we can implement in recovery AND training that will provide the most return-on-investment, the athlete will prioritize those factors. We will be working together to discuss, alter and strategize the game plan together in our Online Coaching video calls.
How many days per week will I be training?
This will be dependent on your practice/game/life schedule as well as the experience level of the athlete. Generally speaking, I will program 2-4 days dedicated to training into each athlete’s athletic programme per week (this will also change depending on your specified sport).
